About me
I am a professional member of the Chartered Institute of Editing and Proofreading (CIEP), and have completed proofreading training with the CIEP and the Publishing Training Centre (PTC), achieving a merit (86.3%) in the PTC’s widely recognised Essential Proofreading course.
I abide by the CIEP’s Membership Codes and use their suggested rates to guide my pricing. I undertake regular Continuing Professional Development (CPD).
I have an academic background in modern and contemporary art history, and I have taught and published in the field for more than a decade.
This means that I have considerable experience of the editorial process from the author’s standpoint, a strong appreciation of the importance of clear and correct English to peer reviewers, publishers and audiences, and an excellent understanding of the conventions of academic writing.
